Hello everyone,I. Jeff poppajeff to most my friends. Tha KS for letting me join, just a quick little note regarding PIP payments and new text messages

New claims for PIP will receive a tex message if granted pip long before the letter(especially now post is striking), this is a new service and is all part of turning pip around and making it fully digital. I recently got granted pip and received the text also. I found the whole process this time .uch more humane and I wasn't forced to do and exercises like pre ious companies expected, also I had my interview via video call which was much more comfortable for me as I have limited mobility and I really can't handle groups of new people. I hope this helps out some for anyone recieving these messages, stay safe people and merry Christmas to all.
PJ.

Most assessments are currently done by phone.

In the past these have been tests and i just felt like they wass trying to trick me one wrong answer and u lose your award its distressing stressful and then they went on to lose my forms i just found it a awful wxperience in the past and was curious  if u have a long term cond why do they put somone through this . Last time i lost my caf ghrough motibilty so when reawared i refused to use the scheme again . Im
guessing its not just me but i am upset amd angry at the system and lavk of support . The country is in a meas but why pick on the vunearable
They aren`t picking on the vulnerable; they are following the process.

You don't need legal advice for any assessment. If it's a face to face assessment then you can take anyone with you. If it's a phone assessment then you can have someone with you and put the phone onto loud speaker.

Most people have an assessment when it comes to a review it's just how it is if you want to still get the benefit

Support maybe available from an advice agency bug this is usually at appeal stage

Can someone be with you for the assessment for support

But i feel vunearable and all my other assesments went wrong im worse now and if u r under doctors surgeons speavilsts they r the ones with your heslth knowledge .i think previous assesmnets were a complete waste of time they were  lost amd got wrong so the process then didnt work but hopefuiy its improved . so im
def feeling worried about going theough the whole  process again i lost my car eveything last time only to be told a coupke months later they had it wrong . Its a painful process when u struggle and r not well .. i hope u appreciate wjere im
    Coming from
but yes i guess it rules out those who have nothing wrong.
I fully understand your concerns, I really do.  But to claim they are picking on the vulnerable just isn`t correct.  To claim benefits, a person has to prove that he or she meets the criteria for whichever benefit he or she is applying for.
As you`ll see in many threads on here, your Drs and specialists don`t see how your condition affects you on a day-to-day basis, only you will know that.  That`s why it`s important you seek advice and support when applying for a benefit.
Everyone who applies for PIP has an assessment of some sort, be that face to face, telephone, video or paper; the result of which is down to the person being assessed.
I really do hope your assessment is successful.

I disagree with that, sorry. A medical professional will not spend any time with you to know how your conditions affect you against the PIP descriptors. They don't see you eat, dress, undress, wash, prepare a meal etc etc.

The majority of people that claim disability benefits such as PIP have long term health conditions but it doesn’t exclude them from any assessments.

I fully understand your frustration but that is how the process works

I myself have reassessment like everyone else and my conditions won't change I won't grow my leg back or get my vision back but I accept I will be reviewed it's just what it is

It is stressful but overthrowing it won't help

Best put your tune into ensuring you gave enough info on the form with real examples for each descriptor and how your condition affects you.  Then prepare for the assessment going over your form and examples you can give
