I am finding it very difficult to type this but as briefly as possible here is my question: I live alone and am struggling financially and otherwise a lot. I am wondering however shamelessly whether I have any inheritance from my elderly father and if so how do I go about claiming it without returning home. I was his youngest daughter and believe he must have left at least some money if not more. I of course feel guilt and other such feelings to even think of it never mind ask but the harsh reality is that he is dead and one day I will die too and, well, if my life could be made easier by accessing familial money that is my right, then I wish to enjoy it.
Please advise.

The distribution of any estate left by your father is determined by his will and the distribution has to be made, by whoever was appointed by his executor, in accordance with the will.
You can purchase a copy of a willhttps://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate
obviously this is only possible if a will exists, in addition the process of probate will need to have been completed for the will to be recorded.
If there is no will the laws of intestacy apply1
