Hi @lesleynewton - & welcome to the community. PIP isn't based on a diagnosis, rather about whether you can perform/attempt the activities that are looked at in the initial PIP claim form.We have some members who have been successful with PIP who suffer from anxiety, but everyone will be affected differently; it's whether you can do the activities/descriptors 'reliably,' i.e. safely, to an acceptable standard, repeat as often as one would reasonably expect, or if it takes you much longer than someone without a disability. Please have a look through the PIP descriptors, as it will help to understand them: https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/asset-library/personal-independence-payment-descriptors-and-scores-april-2022.pdf1

Hello @lesleynewton and welcome, thanks for reaching out, I hope the above replies have been helpful. So that more of our members can share their thoughts, I've moved your post into our PIP category if that's okay.
The PIP assessors will be looking to find out how much your anxiety impacts on your life day to day, and if it makes tasks more difficult. Scope has guidance on PIP if that's useful to read.
Are you looking to apply for PIP now, or have you already started? Whatever stage you're at, let us know if we can help and we'll be here to support you1 -
Hello. I have recently been awarded PIP for anxiety, depression and autism. They don't assess you on diagnosis, but how everyday things affect you, so make sure you tell them every minor detail. Good Luck0
