Started putting in sick notes 21 June 2022,and was told by a job centre staff that I should apply for pip. I did this and sat back for the long wait. Then in Aug. 2022 I was called in for a work review while always putting in new fit notes. I was asked why I had not had work capability assessment, told them you never asked. In oct 2022 i was awarded pip enhanced daily and standard for mob.
All this time and still to this date I've been putting fit notes. Week before Christmas had a letter to say my assessment is on 9 Jan 2023 Face to face. So 7 mths after started to put sick notes in and only getting uc all this time, Is it normal for things to be this way , as I would have thought you would do work assessment before you get pip

It's normal. The backlogs for the WCA seem to be longer than the wait for a PIP decision, if the PIP is a first time claim. If found to have LCWRA you'll receive extra money from the 4th month after you first reported your health condition, providing you sent fit notes for the whole time without any gaps.
