Pip backdated

Hi :)

i have a question about pip so I received a text yesterday saying that I’ve been awarded yay! I applied for pip in the past for my neurological condition but I did not get it. I didn’t appeal either, I just gave up. This was in jan 2020 and now my recent claim started in September 2022. Will I be back dated payment from 2020 or will it just be when I recently made a claim

    Hi and welcome to the community 

    You will only be backdated to start of new claim as it is a new claim and new decision

    Hello @yazzz and great news on being awarded PIP, as Jane has mentioned, this will be backdated from the start of your new claim in 2022.
