ESA and holiday pay

Hi looking for some advice please. A little over two years ago I was diagnosed with bile duct cancer, I spent nearly six months in hospital and underwent three major operations to remove a number of organs and reconstruct my stomach and intestines. As result I've been left with life changing symptoms and dissabilities. I last worked just before the onset (so 2 years 4 months ago), my employer has left my job open but I've had to inform them that I'm not fit to return due to my dissabilities and they will now terminate my employment due to ill health. They have informed me that I have built up 353 hours of holiday pay since I've been off, I'm in the support group for ESA and I'm worried that if I'm paid the hours as payroll when I leave will my ESA payments suffer as a result? Thanks for any advice.

Hi there my name is Jaide and I'm a member of Scopes. Unfortunately I'm not an expert in this area so I can't give you advice on this. However we have a whole section about this topic. However first of all I would highly recommend you pay a visit to our coffee lounge. It's a fun place where we play games and have fun. Anyway I hope you benefit from this forum any questions just ask we are a friendly bunch of people who are passionate about disabilities. I hope to see you around the forum soon.

If you only claimed two years ago I assume that you are on new style ESA which is not means tested so the backpay will make no difference and new style ESA is not means tested.

    (Amazing employer!)
