Evening all, just a quick question to those on UC.Just wondered if anybody had received a message towards the end of the final covid lockdown advising them that that for the time being they no longer needed to hand in fit notes(it was on for a short amount of time possibly 3 months)and this was to free up GPs and telephone appointments (or something along those lines). It has totally disappeared from my journal.

This was in place from around December 2021but fit notes resumed just over a month later. Details here. https://www.rightsnet.org.uk/welfare-rights/news/item/dwp-suspends-requirement-to-submit-medical-evidence-after-seven-days-of-illness-for-universal-credit-and-esa

Are you asking this question because there were gaps in your fit notes?

@poppy123456I was I’m almost certain that I had continuous fit note from Feb 2020 which I kept hold of until my first face to face in April 2021.I then produced them gave them to my job advisor and tbth am not sure if I gave them to her and she copied them or I just gave them to her.I do have my paper ones from April to September 21 and have had my claim backdated till the (minus the standard three month wait so they have paid me from Feb 21)0

During that time you should have been giving the details of your fit notes on your journal. Did you report a change of circumstances and report your health condition this way? If you did then it would have prompted it to ask for fit notes.0

I did and every time I was asked produced a fit note even down to keeping them up to date when they were delayed due to the difficulty of getting an telephone appointment with m go throughout covid0

Your journal will tell you if there’s any gaps in the fit notes.
