You won't be entitled to the electric blanket from Octopus because you're not a customer of theirs. You'll need to see if your own energy supplier has them available, if they have any left.

Hello and welcome @sun90, can I ask who your current energy supplier is? :)

Am I wrong to be concerned about the quality of free electric blankets. Will they not go for cheap. Anything cheap that is electric would worry me. If your warming the bed up and your sat down stairs your not keeping a eye on it.
I sleep downstairs on a small sofa and freeze I wish I could afford a quality one. To scared to buy cheap.

    Just Saying.
I'm with Octopus energy and i received a free electric blanket but it's not like the ones you put onto your bed. It's an electric throw, therefore can be used when you're down stairs. The one i have is a double sized so perfect for wrapping yourself up into it and has 9 settings.

The quality is extremely good and when i looked on amazon to see if i could find it, i seen that it was £69. The reviews were amazing, so no concerns about the quality at all. They do have some that start from £39 but they are more expensive than the ones you put on your bed.

The good thing about those throws is that they cost as little as 2p per hour to run and you can put them on a timer so they go off after a certain length of time. The highest setting on mine does get rather hot and the longest it will stay on this setting is one hour.
