Frustrating week!

This week I haven't been around much. The main reason has been my finding out that my local hospital has breached confidentiality of my personal data, and I have been chasing my butt, trying to sort it out. It hasn't been easy given that there have been strikes across the NHS this week! Grrrrrrr

Wow, that sounds truly annoying @Siwheels73, how did you find out?

The wife of the person who received the information actually worked for my mum in the NHS, some time ago! The chances of that link are so incredibly small as to be almost impossible.

How strange, very small chance. Who knows how many others have had their details leaked so to speak.

Letter just emailed off to the Chief Operating Officer of the Hospital after he offered, on Twitter, to investigate. I said nice things about the Hospital during the lockdowns, and we have stayed in touch.

I'm sorry to hear that @Siwheels73 Each trust should have a Caldicott Guardian whose responsibility it is to ensure data confidentiality and be alerted to breaches. If you have any more issues (although with the CEO involved, hopefully not), please do ask to speak with them.

@Cher_Scope, thank you. I am very happy with the way the hospital is dealing with the issue. I will bear your information in mind, though.

I got another persons patient blood pressure record put in with my subject access request in place of my own for some reason.

It is a daunting feeling to think that your information can be handled so carelessly, and I do hope you get a good outcome from this experience.😊
