MR - if you already have 10 points, is it easier to get 12 at MR?

Hello,

I’m pushed my application to MR as I think I’m eligible for Higher Rate Daily Living, I have made my points firmly and focused on just two questions.

I was just wondering, as I already have 10 points does that give a higher chance of success (as I only need two points, so not all 12 if the initial report had come back with 0 points). It would be great to hear other people’s experiences, especially when successful at MR, of how many points they had beforehand…

Thanks all x

It really makes no difference in my opinion. The most likely outcome of any MR is the decision will remain the same. Only 23% of decisions change at this stage.

    Hello @TomGwill
I thought I’d share my experience - I applied for PIP last September and was unsuccessful - awarded 6 points for Daily Living and 4 for Mobility. I started my MR appeal straight away and read comments and advice on this amazing site which helped me to compose my MR appeal letter with supporting real life examples of my daily struggles. Early December I was awarded Enhanced rate for both components - 13 points for Daily Living and 18 points for Mobility. My MR was successful but I am aware that this is not the norm as less than 25% of MRs are successful. Wishing you all the best with your MR appeal.
