Hello @Glennc and a warm welcome from me too! How's your day going?
I can see rebel11 has provided an informative link to better understanding what qualifies people for blue badges. Has it helped clarify things in your mind?
Just to let you know too: I've amended the title of your thread to include your question and moved it to our Transport and travel category to help others spot it more easily.
Take care and I look forward to speaking with you some more.0 -
Thank you Cher it did clarify what I already knew. It amazes me how IIDB class you as 50-60% disabled under government criteria yet PIP don’t have same criteria, and Blue Badge don’t except IIDB as evidence0

Blue Badge comes from Council Budgets, so it's down to them if they award a Blue Badge. That's the impression I got applying for my father. The best thing is to apply, you have nothing to lose. Once you get an answer, reassess where you are from that point.0

Rebel 11 they contacted me yesterday. I sent the IIDB award but they refused that. I have been awaiting re assessment for pip since last august but still not been done. I spoke to them the other day and they told me if I had not heard by April then they would extend my current award which qualifies me for blue badge however until I get a letter stating they are doing that I cannot get the blue badge under the pip points. Which means my blue badge will expire so I was trying to see if there was another way of qualifying without the pip award. It’s just extra hassle you don’t need when trying to put everything in place before my amputation.0
