Hi thanks for allowing me into this group. I had my text message on wednesday
We have awarded you PIP. We have sent you a decision letter explaining the award. Please allow 2 weeks to receive this. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.
I started my claim about 17 weeks ago, but nothing states on the text what you have been awarded, I lost my job as a Gas Service and maintenance engineer due to various illnesses and capability etc, and have been battling with the dwp for benefits which I've never had to.
At 58 yrs old and worked since I was 15 I find it a minefield with really poor leadership from DWP.
Evidence from Professional consultants Nd doctors appears to be tossed away as all they are interested in is getting you back to work.
Then the horrid shock of £0 UC at Christmas because they messed up the November payment of ESA.
1hr and 10mins waiting on the phone. Why in this modern day does it have to be like this.
My PIP assessment was on the phone and very good, unfortunately capita lost my paperwork so DWP fast tracked me now into 18 weeks with me having to drawdown my pension to live on, please don't do that as I got penalised by Mr HMRC .
So after all these years of putting into a pension, paying NI and tax we get treated like rubbish.
Does anyone know what would be the minimal amount I would receive?
Sorry for getting on my soap box but om trying to help everyone out there.

There are two parts to PIP, a Daily Living component and a Mobility component. Each is payable at a standard or enhanced rate.

The amount of PIP can vary between £24.45 and £156.90 per week depending on which rate of each component you get.

Hello @UK654 and a warm welcome to our online community. How's things today?
You rant away. We get it. The system can be extremely difficult to navigate if you aren't familiar with processes and coming across errors just before Christmas, as you did, must have been really hard. I'm just glad to hear that your PIP claim was successful. I hope that it'll make life a little easier money-wise.
Please let us know how you get on. And if you feel that your condition warranted a higher 'enhanced' PIP award on receiving the decision letter (should it be otherwise) then do let us know and we'll guide you on the next steps to take incase you want to appeal.
Take care and you know where we are should you ever want to talk.0 -

Good luck to you. After a long and arduous journey, you’ve been recognised as needing help. It’s really sad that the journey is so hard and stressful. Itsasif we are not recognised as vunerable. So glad you’re almost sorted out.0
