Does anyone else think anxiety can cause self care issues much like depression can?

I think many people have different forms of anxiety, that have different effects. Distraction techniques work well sometimes.

Anxiety and depression are generally closely linked.

I think it would depend on the type and severity of the anxiety @bluefox, but I'm no expert.

Is this something you've talked about with your GP or mental health team, or just something you're curious about?

I think anxiety can effect self care, for example if you feel so anxious about leaving the house, do you get enough fresh air and sunlight? What are your thoughts?

@Strawberry1 Sorry to hear your anxiety is awful, do you have support around you?

The symptoms of anxiety are awful. I suffer from anxiety and depression. I sometimes would be sitting in a group and all of a sudden I would become extremely anxious, where I will be sweating. So embarrassing. I think with anxiety, I found the only way to improve your confidence is to put yourself in uncomfortable situations and ride it out. The worst thing that could happen is you remove yourself from the situation  (Fight or Flight)

Hi @Hannah_Scope and @camalapen7 , yes anxiety can effect self care in many ways . I suppose I could put myself in uncomfortable situations but eventually I would be worn down with it . I would just crumble unfortunately.  Despite talking about things to therapists etc I just don't deal well at all . I am terribly sorry.  Please take care of yourselves.  Thanks again for your time.

Therapy such as CBT is quite beneficial for anxiety. Also which personally helps me alot is exercise. Once I do a workout, I feel more positive and confident.
