Hi,

Just a few questions, My appointee went and done my mandatory reconsideration on the 19th of January and still waiting for a decision since the last decision was made to put me on lcw i have been given an indefinite sick note from the doctor just wondering if that would have any help changing the decision? Also a lot more infomatiom has been provided I have adhd and also dyspraxia I think that’s how it’s spelt lol sent in both diagnosis and also the reports from both does that help? Also is it normal for the mandatory reconsideration to take place in person?

Also just wondering I first started putting my sick notes in from July 2022 which was my first one but my doctor backdated me all the way until jan 2022 would the backdated money go from July or January thanks in advance Ryan.

A fit note isn’t proof that you have LCWRA.

MR decisions can take anything up to 12 weeks and they are not done in person. Another decision maker will look at your evidence again and make another decision. Once it’s made you’ll receive a letter on your journal. The most likely outcome will be the decision remains the same, if this happens you can proceed to Tribunal.

If found to have LCWRA the extra money is paid from the 4th month after you first reported your health condition.

    Hi Poppy,

thank you for the reply love what you do on here helping so many people thank you! That’s what I thought as it’s based on the descriptors not a fit note just wanted to clarify.

Okay so even though I had a sick note from jan 2022 as it was backdated to then It would still be 4 months from July as that’s when I first uploaded it the first sick note I uploaded was from jan 2022- July 2022 hopefully that makes sense. Just as the women my mum spoke to she said it would be backdated from Jan -2022 but she may have got confused and thought I was putting in fit notes from Jan-2022

my mum as she’s my appointee done the mandatory reconsideration In person but I assume then the person she seen  will send all the information to the actual decision maker am I right in saying that?

They don’t usually accept a backdated fit note so I would expect the waiting period to start from when you reported the fit note.

A decision maker will look at your evidence, the form you sent and the assessment report and come to another decision.
