Hi I work 8hours per week and have limited capability of work, I have 2 wages in one assessment period coming up on Friday which means they will take my second wage into account when working out my uc payment I have worked it out and they will be deducteding £275 from my uc payment has I get paid every 4 weeks. Please can you tell me is there anything I can do to get this money back once it has been taken. This happens to me once a year and when I have spoken to uc before they say there isn't nothing they can do cause this is how the system works.
Please can anyone give me advice.

Unfortunately, you were correctly advised and there's nothing you can do because it's the way UC works. Earnings received during your assessment period will reduce your UC by 55% for earnings above the work allowance.

There is an explanation of how different pay cycles impact UC here
    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/universal-credit-different-earning-patterns-and-your-payments/universal-credit-different-earning-patterns-and-your-payments-payment-cycles

For this month you will get UC but will have the extra wage available.

Over the course of a year you will likely be getting the same amount of UC in total as if you were paid the same wages in total but paid monthly (that may not be the case if you have a Work Allowance which is not fully used in most months).

As you receive 13 lots of wages a year and only 12 UC payments this is going to happen once a year every year I'm afraid @shortyt

Are you certain of the amount you calculated?

Yes I know this happens once a year I just think the system should be sorted as out of my uc payment I still have to pay my full rent but getting less uc

Yes but you have the additional wage this month.

Unfortunately it's the law, which can't be changed. As you knew this would happen, were you able to keep some money back from your earnings to last you the month?

Surely two wage packages and reduced UC is still more than one wage package and your 'normal' UC.
