Hi everyone, hope someone can help me a bit.
So I’m the carer of my mom, she have PIP and the disability element in UC ( awarded January 2023, backdated to June 2022) I reported that I’m her carer on the 02 of October ( from 05/2022) , did not have any answers, until they tell me to reported again, I did so with same dates, and the carer element was added to this months statement, my question is, will it be backdated to when I first reported ?

They could backdate to June 2022 when mum’s PIP award started (if that is when it started, it isn’t clear if June 2022 refers to her PIP or her UC). You may need to press them on this and, if necessary, do a Mandatory Reconsideration.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
