I'm actually unsure if I will stick around because it is only mental health after all .

I don't think ... only mental health applies. Don't put yourself down. When it's got a grip of you it's debilitating
Fibromyalgia and all the other bodily ailments I cope with ... the mental health side not so easy. It's a constant battle to keep on top of it. That lil' inner demon has sharp teeth to keep gnawing away
I hope you stick around0 -

Hi @Strawberry1 How's your Sunday going?
Do you mean you're unsure whether you will stick around on the community? If so, that's a shame but we understand people have to do what is best for them.
Maybe have a little think about it? And if you've changed your mind, we'd love to get to know you some more
Wishing you a lovely day.0 -
Hi @Cher_Scope , I have very low self esteem and so I always believe I'm a burden.0

Hello @WelshBlue , pleased to meet you . Sending a Great Big Thank you 😊.1

We certainly don't see you as a burden @Strawberry1. We think you are really valuable and are glad you are around on Scope's community.
I can hear how that's not always easy for you to see and believe though, particularly as you have very low self-esteem. Is there anything that usually helps you when you are feeling this way?
Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you. We are all here for you and listening to you0 -
@Strawberry1 Ah no I'm sorry. That must be difficult to manage some days. To reassure you, you aren't a burden here, nor anywhere else I suspect. We value you, just as you are.
I'm sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, but are you receiving support with your mental health?0 -
@Cher_Scope , I'm on a waiting list for help . Thanks again.0
-
@L , thank you for the welcome . I certainly need to work on my self esteem. Thanks again.0

@Strawberry1
It's good you are on a waiting list for help. I hope that list whittles down soon and you can be seen. If you feel your mood is worsening and impacting your quality of daily living in the meantime, please try to get an appointment to speak with your GP. You might also find the following resources helpful:Mind: have lots of useful information on their website
Hub of Hope: shows mental health support available in your area
IAPT: to refer yourself for talking therapy, if you live in England
Do you have much planned for today?0 -
Thanks @Cher_Scope.0

@Cher_Scope , no I've no plans for today.0

Hi @Ada , I am so sorry 🙏 you have the difficulties you have . My heart goes out to you. Thank you so much for the warm welcome. Sending hugs..1

I can hear you feel you need to work on your self-esteem @Strawberry1. Is there anything, in particular, that might help you with this?0

Hi @L , I've never been confident so I don't know how to fix it .0

I should practice what I preach here ... but being kind to yourself helps. I list down one thing a day that makes me happy, and one thing a day where I've been kind to myself. It may be only a thought you have about yourself ... but it's all a start to gaining a positivity in your life. One thing I've learned with the help of the professionals, negativity grows and embeds itself a lot quicker than personal positivity.
I'm new here myself, but I'm sure there will always be someone here to hold your hand when everything gets tough ... take care

Hi @WelshBlue , you have written a lovely piece there . You sound a kind caring person. Thanks so much for your help . I will try but I'm pretty rubbish at looking at myself as any good . Thank you again.0
