New style ESA maybe possible depending on your NI contributions in tax years 2020/21 and 2021/22. You will need a fit note to be able to claim this. If entitled to payments and you're 25 and over then you'll receive £77/week.There's also Universal Credit but whether you're entitled will totally depend on your circumstances. If you live with a partner you'll need to claim as a couple and your joint circumstances will be taken into consideration. If you have savings/capital of more than £16,000 you're excluded from claiming. Use a benefits calculator to check entitlement. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/benefits-calculator/Intro/Home?cid=8bb7f54f-be7d-45c3-af22-001f7b7f08e3 If there's any entitlement you should report your health condition when you claim and then send a fit note within 7 days of that.If you claim both of those together the ESA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.PIP may also be possible but it's not about a diagnosis, or about your ability to work. They will look at exactly how your conditions affect you against the PIP descriptors. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -

Welcome to the community!
I'm so sorry to hear you have been unwell to the point of being dismissed from your job. Can I ask, do you have good support for your health? I see Poppy has already answered your query, the links to Citizen's Advice and the Benefits Calculator are excellent.
Just to let you know, I popped your post into the Benefits and Financial Support section of the forum. In case you had any other questions or queriesHannah - She / Her
