Hello There All,

I'm new to the forum and I have tons of questions about my UC and LCWRA.
If I get a student loan ,will this effect my UC payments (Pronounced LCWRA)
so many sites and no straight answer , just tells you: there are exceptions for disabled people.

Thank you all in advance

LCWRA is part of UC. UC is one benefit made up of many different elements, it's all means tested and not just part of it.

If there's a student maintenance loan available to you then it will reduce your UC regardless of whether you take that loan or not. Loans for student fees are not classed as income.

Disabled Studant allowance is ignored as income. https://www.gov.uk/disabled-students-allowance-dsa

You can contact the Disabled Students helpline and they will give you all the information you need. https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/disabled-students-helpline

Hello @bultico and a warm welcome to our online community, how are you keeping today?

It sounds like you've secured a place, or are considering going to university. Well done. I hope it goes well for you.

Does Poppy's answer help you better understand how your UC would be impacted?

Please let us know if you have any other questions, or do give the Disabled Students Helpline a ring as recommended as they will be able to drill down into your personal circumstances and answer any questions.

Just to note, I've amended the title of your thread and moved it to our Universal Credit (UC) category.

    All the best.
