Pip phone assessment

Hi guys..
I have my pip assessment on Monday over the phone, I was registered sight impaired in November and applied for pip in January. I attended the hospital last week where I have been told I am now over the threshold and am now severely sight impaired.
The hospital called today and went through the paperwork, they then emailed me a new copy of the certificate,.which I am going to upload.
I have given that and a drs letter,.sick record from work, multiple statements as evidence, i know it's not based on the diagnosis but does anyone have experience of being turned down being severely sight impaired?
Not sure what else to I can say really, my vision is terrible, I'm borderline having to consider my job, as someone that's never applied before, it seems odd that when you have a surgeon/specialist register you, that you would have to jump through hoops to get any help.
Thanks guys.

Hi @Wilsonwinehouse
Sorry but I don't have any specific info regarding your question, but just want to add my support. I have my phone assessment too on Monday morning. Good luck to us both!0 -
Hi and welcome to the community
I am registered as severely vision impaired it's tye same for all applicants regardless of condition or evidence sent from medical professionals
Most people have an assessment because everyone is affected differently by their condition and a diagnosis doesn't detail how that condition affects an individuals daily life
Good luck for your assessment0
