I wonder if anyone can help me please? My daughter has been in receipt of low rate DlA.was advised to make a claim for PiP on her 16th birthday. She was awarded the higher rate of PiP from March 23.my question is does this get backdated to the date she claimed?she has been receiving DLA but at the lower rate

Unfortunately you won’t be entitled to the difference between her DLA award and the PIP. Her PIP payments will start about 7 weeks after the decision was made. You should receive a last DLA payment.1

It doesn't get backdated because it's a completely different benefit, just like you would not have to pay back the difference if you got a lower award.susan53 said:I wonder if anyone can help me please?
