Nicked from another forum, what things did you not realise till a surprisingly old age?

I am 29 years old and only just learnt that plants had genders.

I thought they were all the same 🫣

Well, I recently learnt, that trees communicate with each other. For example if you have an Elm tree and an Oak tree, one will communicate with the other to share resources, water, nutrients etc.

@rebel11 that's interesting. Thanks for sharing, I didn't know that. I assumed that in nature everything is at competition with each other so the trees would only be interested in getting enough for themselves. Didn't know they would want to help another tree out.

I've just learnt why cats are attracted to spider plants. My daughter-in-law gave me one, & my cat has been eating the leaves; the poor plant looks like it's had a bad haircut! They think she must of given their cat a bad habit too, as theirs has started eating the leaves of their own spider plant. @chiarieds very interesting, almost sounds like the cat uses it as a recreational drug, but a relatively harmless one?

I'm 56 and only days ago learned that if you double tap the Shift (arrow) key quickly on your mobile phone keyboard ... capital letters can be typed continuously
