PIP and hospital

I am just renewing my pip review. Last time I renewed it I went to tribunal and I don’t want to do that again.
I have just noticed on the form it says to add any hospital stays. In September 21 I caught covid and was in hospital for 8 days. I didn’t tell the DWP because I didn’t know I had to. I thought it was only if you’d been in there 38 days or more. Is this correct?

That you didn’t tell them about 8 days only doesn’t matter but you should tell them if they’ve asked.
I realise that didn’t seem to matter for you but it is good for people to remember that the days that matter are 28 whole days in hospital (days of admission and discussion do not count). For people with multiple stays they have to add them together if they were disperated by less than 28 days,1 -
@calcotti they haven’t asked I’ve just noticed the question on the pip renewal form. I didn’t know I had to inform them, it was the question on the form that got me thinking. I thought i was in hospital in 2021 but I think it might be 2020 as it was during lockdown. Should I put it on the form or leave it? TIA0

There is no harm in telling them so you might as well add it.1
