PIP decision by post - a row of zeros and one 4 - homelessness looming, much quicker now!

I read the rather long letter stood by my postbox on the way out. Not read it again yet with my full attention. I might not, at least today, because up until then my day was really quite good.
When I did briefly scan through it, I did see a lot of things that simply are not true.
I didn't feel hugely confident when I applied or when I had my assessment so I'm not totally shocked by the result. Things have and are changing though.
I won't be able to pay my rent in about 3-4 months. (outgoings more than incomings). I almost don't care about this. I'm in an odd limbo. Nothing I can do.
I'll now start reading the posts here about MR and what I can do, additionally, to support my claim.
How can a "qualified" (how?) health professional make a decision about my life without meeting me or knowing me. They really can't, right?
I've been in a downward spiral for the last month or two. I'm well and truly glued inside the fly catcher and I'm struggling. The struggle only makes your final descent come quicker.
I'd rather help someone with their PIP claim than do it for myself!
So, ho hum, Saturday has to stay good for me today and I'm determined that it will be. I have a giant, sharing bag of Maltesers. I'm not sharing.
Sorry to babble on!

Hello @Lottie1732 thanks for sharing your update, and you enjoy those Maltesers!
I'm sorry to hear that the decision was so at odds with your real lived experience. The news can be quite a knockback, and feel very unfair, so do take at least day away for your own wellbeing, and to help protect your mental health. We'll be sending you an email a little later today, so please let us know if it doesn't come through.
You can certainly request a Mandatory Reconsideration when you're ready. Turn2Us have a nice clear overview of all the steps you can take when challenging a PIP decision. Please have a read if it's helpful.
If we can do anything more to support you, please let us know

Hi Lotty,
Sorry to hear, you weren't successful with your pip, I don't think many people are, the first time they apply, if its any consolation my advice, would be to write & request a MR, if you just ring up, as I did, you won't be able to submit further evidence to support your claim.
I was unaware at the time, hence the decision diddnt change, merely by them looking at it again.
I would also get proff of postage, or signed for, then you know, they have received it.
Hope that helps a little. Someone else may advise you on here, that is more experienced than me.
Good luck.1 -
Thank you so much Poppy and @Breacon.
I still haven't plucked up the courage to read the letter properly. I will and then see how I go about starting an MR.0 -
Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do to help @Lottie1732. We believe in you and know you can get through this but that doesn't invalidate how difficult this is for you

@Lottie1732
So sorry to read your post, I hope you can get the decision changed if not at MR as the turnaround is quite low with them.
But there’s a much better chance at Appeal so please don’t give up.
I love your name I have a new granddaughter that is 3 weeks, and her name is Lottie 😊
Take care ❤️1
