Inheritance? UC?

Hello, I am on UC recently transferred over from ESA, I was due to receive some inheritance in the next coming months, for the past year I have lived in my Grandfathers property then moved into a council property end of January, my family paid for all work that needed doing(flat was in a terrible state, needed plastering, decorating etc) and helped with other expenses furniture, CCTV, TV's, beds etc and mentioned anything spent would be deducted from my inheritance as my Grandfather had included me in his will, so now they've told me that I will not recieve anything because it's all been spent on my property.... Do I still need to inform the DWP/UC about this? Even though I won't be recieving any funds?

If the amount was over the threshold for savings, you should report it when you would have been due to receive the inheritance. If you don’t then they will likely find out at some point and start asking questions.0

The amount isn't over the threshold for savings no, my Grandfather's property has only just been sold and it's now being handled through solicitors which could take 3months+ before the sale is complete and money is available to be passed onto whoever is stated in the willpoppy123456 said:If the amount was over the threshold for savings, you should report it when you would have been due to receive the inheritance.
