Hi, my name is ferdyL! Waiting for PIP decision

I am new to this page, I first applied for pip in the middle of January and have already had my assessment on 28th March. The phone assessment only lasted 8 minutes which was a bit worrying. But she stated on the phone that the “DWP backdate it, Hint Hint” so I am optimistic. Firstly I am surprised that I’ve had my assessment already and secondly I wanted to ask if anyone else has had this said to them in an assessment? And how long roughly for a decision? Thanks for reading

The length of time the assessment took doesn't mean anything other than they had no further questions to ask. She was correct when she said, you will be owed money from the date you rang to start your claim, if successfully awarded and i wouldn't look too much into that, other than it was a statement of fact.Once the report is returned to DWP a decision can take anything up to 12 weeks.0

Thankyou for the reply, I was only curious as she stated that she “couldn’t tell me the outcome but they backdate it hint hint” I’m happy to wait as I can see there are many others that have been waiting a lot longer than I have. Although I should have started the claim 18 months ago.0

Thanks for reaching out @ferdyL and fingers crossed it's a positive outcome for you! I'm just moving your post over into our PIP category so other members also applying can find it more easily.
Keep us updated when you hear more, and enjoy the bank holiday Monday0 -
Hi all,
I have called DWP today to get a copy of the assessment report from 2 weeks ago, they have sent it now and should receive it soon. The lady on the phone also stated that they had made a decision this morning but couldn’t tell me the outcome as it wasn’t on her system yet. Is this normal? Or should I be worried that they have declined it? It’s making me anxious that’s all. Many thanks, Luke.0 -
Yes it’s normal. When a decision is made it takes up to 24 hours for the system to update and for them to be able to see it. They will only see that the decision has been made.
You can ring back again in about 24 hours and they maybe able to tell you.1 -
Thankyou.
i appreciate the reply, I don’t really want to keep hassling them. I will wait for the decision letter to come through. I just wanted to check it’s normal or she was giving an excuse if you know what I mean. I’m surprised they had made a decision already though! Fingers crossed it’s good news. They have more than enough evidence that we sent through. I suffer with epilepsy and have had multiple seizures over the last 2 years.0 -
Fingers crossed for you @ferdyL let us know when the letter comes
We'll be here to support you whatever the outcome.
