Does anyone know how Compensation and inheritance effects your benefits? Do I have to inform universal credit?

For inheritance, it will be classed as savings/capital. If you have more than £16,000 in your bank on the last day of your assessment period then entitlement to UC will end.For every £250 or part there of over £6,000 there's a £4.35/month deduction. If you're claiming council tax reduction then all local authorities have their own rules and some have a maximum savings limit of £6,000 before entitlement ends. For compensation it will depend on what it's for.0

I'm afraid i have no idea what the answer is to that. I'd advise you to get some expert advice if you receive any compensation.
