DLA child claim

Hello,
wondered if anyone could give me any advice please? I applied for Child DLA for my son, we are still awaiting a decision on this. I rang the other day as I had received a message to say “we are still looking at your claim. When a decision is made…” as I hadn’t received a text before I wanted to check it was genuine. When speaking to the advisor, she told me that the original lettering of the initial letter stating they have my claim was now incorrect and it was likely that I would not receive a decision within 12 weeks as stated due to a backlog of claims.

I wonder if anyone has had a similar experience & if so, if they have a rough timeline or how long their claim took please?

From other forums and places I'm part of it looks like people are waiting up to around 16 weeks, with most receiving decisions around the 13 week mark!!1
