Hi I’ve just been rewarded LWCRA and don’t really understand when I’ll be paid it? My assessment dates are from 10th to the 11th of each month and I’m paid on the 17th of each month. I handed my first fit not in on January 17th will I be back dated from then and on what days do I receive my LWCRA
thank you

Hi @roxannegraham and a warm welcome to our online community, how you doing?

It's a confusing system isn't it and one our lovely members will be able to explain more clearly for you. My understanding is that the LCWRA should be included in your UC from the beginning of the first full assessment period after the end of a three month waiting period (starting from the date you supplied that first fit note).

I've marked your post as 'unanswered' for the time being and moved it to our Universal credit (UC) category, changing the title to help others see it more easily.

Take care and have a lovely night.

The waiting period is 3 full assessment periods and then it's paid from the 4th month after you reported your health conditon/sent your first fit note. The LCWRA isn't paid at all during this time.

If you reported your health condition on the same date you reported your first fit note then you waiting period will be.. Feb to May... LCWRA starts from assessment period May 11th to June 10th and first payment will be June 17th. No LCWRA element is owed.

The LCWRA element is paid on the same day you usually receive your UC which is 17th of each month. LCWRA is part of UC and increases your maximum UC entitlement by £390.06.

The above advice is assuming you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim.
