Hi
I applied for pip in January 2023, the first copies got los in the post so I had to compete the forms again in March. I had my assessment 3 weeks ago. It too around a week until they received the assessors report.

I did phone to request a copy of the report, which I received this morning and to my surprise I have been ‘provisionally’ awarded the ehnaced rate for both. Do they usually go with the assessment report?
Also how long on average after the assessment did you get your award letter?
thanks.
thanks.

Hi abbey95
Welcome to Scope Online
Loads of info onsite and friendly people.
The DWP tend to go with the Assessors Report (the best thing to do is wait for the letter), but you need to wait for the confirmation letter, which may take a 12 to weeks depending on how backlogged they are and the post etc.
p.s. amended a couple of weeks to 12 weeks0 -
The assessment report is a recommendation and not a "provisional award." Timescales are up to 12 weeks once the report was returned.0

Thanks both. I’ve just phoned them and in my area they’re estimating 2-3 week for a result. So fingers crossed I hear back soon!0

Got my fingers crossed for you @abbeyv95. How are you feeling about everything at the moment?0

@L_Volunteer I feel ok thank you, I feel a sigh of relief and the money will help massively - especially with the cost of everything at the moment. One less stress isn’t it.Have you applied for pip? Xx0

I’ve just phoned the pip line asking for an update. They said the report is in its final stages with the case manager now. How long would you expect to be waiting? They was very vague on the phone. They did say once a decision has been made I’ll receive a letter in the post. But I see on here that people have texts before letters?0

Timescales are up to 12 weeks after the report was returned. The reason they were vague on the phone is because they very likely couldn't tell you anything because you're ringing a call centre.Yes, you will receive a decision letter up to a couple of weeks after the decision is made. They do sometimes send a text if successfully awarded and it's a first time claim but not always.0
