Hi everyone.
I’ve just won my pip tribunal.
I’ve been awarded standard rate mobility from 2016 7 years I’ve been fighting for it. How long are DWP taking to backdate payments as I’ve already waited 7 years.
thank you

Wow 7 years I’ve never heard of someone waiting this long before. Was this a first time claim? If so may I ask why you waited so long?0

They turned it down twice.
I went tdown the tribunal route in November.
judge has ordered that I’m entitled from 2016 when I first made a claim that was turned down.0 -
I assumed I would of be backdated from the lastest claim I made last year but the judge has said I’m entitled from 2016. Shocked I am0

@staceyley Congratulations on being awarded! It sounds like quite the battle, how are you feeling now? I bet relieved!1

Feeling good at the moment. I won’t believe it until I’ve got my award notice from pip0

That's very unusual for them to take into consideration any previous claims.

That’s what I thought also. Says I’ve been awarded from 2016-2025. How long are backdated payments taking at the moment does anyone know? Thanks0

Wow @staceley that’s amazing. I recently had my assessment and on receiving the report the assessor had pulled my claim from October 2018 when I was turned down was scored all 0. I never appealed or anything as just carried on with life. In my assessment report dated may 10th this year she’s referenced my 2018 claim on the different descriptors of which I was scored zero and questioned it ? All my problems I have to date apart from my recent diagnosis of FND was happening in 2018. Claims are being looked into as part of a judges order from a few years back that, people either wrongly awarded or turned down are being looked into and getting awarded or backdated payments, many upwards of £15,000. That’s why the judge has obviously seen bsck then you fitted the descriptors but were incorrectly assessed. My report this time although the DM can go against it would award me enhanced for both. Over the moon for you xxx1
