Text message differences

Hi all, I had my text message come through today and while talking to my friend we noticed that our texts are considerably different her says “we have not yet made a decision on you PIP claim. We will write to you when we have made a decision.you only need to contact us if there’s any change of circumstances.”
Mine says “ We've received the written report of your PIP assessment. We will write to you once we've made a decision on your PIP. As a guide you should hear from us within 8 weeks. You don't need to contact us unless any of the details you gave us have changed. Thank you.”
has anyone else had different messages to these? Why are they worded differently? Curiosity will kill me lol xx

They are worded differently because they are completely different texts. The text you’ve received is because they have now received the report. The next text you will receive is likely to be the same as your friend. Then you’ll probably receive another saying they have all the information they need. It’s all part of DWP sending updates on your claim.0

Thank you-my confusion still lies with the fact my friend and I have both only received one text message each-if what you say is standard why didn’t she receive the one identical to mine first and then hers second? She then received a letter the same as her text! This is a very confusing system xx0

Has your friend has an assessment yet? I don’t know what’s confusing about it because the texts mean exactly what they say. Once a decision is made you will be contacted.
Now they’ve received your report a decision can take up to 12 weeks.0 -
yes! We were exactly a week apart with my assessment by phone being first then hers being a week after by phone also. Monday my friend received her text message and the next day received a letter, today I received my message, completely different from hers-that’s it! We’ve had no other communication and if as you say there’s a process to these messages either one of us has jumped a message or there’s no continuity and if there is non how are we supposed to follow rules surrounding application?I’m not questioning your knowledge just trying to make sense of a system that doesn’t seem to have sense xx0

The texts are just updates and not procedures they have to follow.0

UPDATE~my friend received a text 4 days after the one saying “we have not made a decision…..” to say she’d been awarded, I’m yet to hear anything so fingers crossed xx2
-
This is positive news about your friend @missphant. Hopefully, you will hear something soon about the decision made. Please feel free to let us know how this goes for you and if there's anything we can do to support you1

in some cases the ‘we haven’t made a decision’ text comes after the one we’ve just had and it looks like sometimes you get a decision text after that (not always but that seems to be the pattern for some people)
in answering your question of why she didn’t get the same text as you first - I have a theory (probably bull) that if a review award is clear cut (eg….the award visibly stay the same as before. There are multiple reasons why some decisions take longer but there seems to be a number of us in a similar stage (if the dwp do things in batches) so you’re not alone0 -
Thank you! From asking for a form to fill in to her being awarded (for the first time) took her 13 weeks to the day and mine is 19 weeks since asking for the form, 6 weeks since my phone consultation and 2 weeks since the ‘we’ve received your written report….’ Mines very different lol xx

@missphant I received both of the messages you and your friend received one following the other 2 weeks later. The last text regarding a decision was on Thursday I guess now it’s a waiting game. Praying for a positive outcome feeling sick with anxiety. I hope you hear soon wish you well. X0

Is there a favourite way you like to manage any anxiety @hopefulbea? I know Mind has some useful tips for self-care, which could help.
Sometimes focusing on things you enjoy or spending time with loved ones can help to put the worry to the back of your mind. I know it's easier said than done, but you'll get there0 -
Thank you @Alex_Scope I’m yet to figure out the best way to manage it, it seems to be getting worse I’m waiting for a medication review I’m currently taking 4 Propranolol a day. I’ve tried breathing techniques etc but still find myself in distress. I will have a look at Mind now thank you 😊0
-
I hope it helps a little @hopefulbea, even just talking about how you're feeling can make a big difference. You're not alone in this!0
-
@hopefulbea thank you! I’m finding the whole thing stressful too……I hope they deal with you soon, I really do feel stuck until someone I’ve never met decides my future, it’s scary-I hope you can deal with your anxiety with things you love xx0
-
@missphant just an update I received my award text yesterday yet to receive a letter with details etc. I wish you the best of luck hoping you hear soon x0
-
@hopefulbea that’s awesome news! Congratulations, I’m yet to hear anything so fingers crossed for a positive outcome but it’s a week tomorrow since I had the ‘not made a decision’ text xx0
-
@missphant thank you I wasn’t expecting a positive outcome. It was 6 days after my no decision text so il be praying you’re not waiting any longer. Fingers are crossed for you xx0
-
@hopefulbea thank you! I wasn’t successful last time so I’m hoping against hope they do this time around xx0
