Student Finance Wales query

Hi everyone, I wasn't sure where to put this message, I'm signed up to begin a part time degree with the Open University and spoke to Universal Credit that's all fine but I'm on the student finance website now and it's asking me if I just want to apply for the maintenance grant or if I want the mix of maintenance loan and grant but should I just go for the loan+grant because Universal Credit take away what you're eligible for right not just what you've picked?

If there's a maintenance loan available to you then it will affect your UC, regardless of whether you take that loan or not. Loans for student fees do not affect your UC.

Thank you Poppy, as always you're such a great help! I will just take the mix of the loan and grant then because if UC are gonna count it anyway then might as well actually claim itpoppy123456 said:If there's a maintenance loan available to you then it will affect your UC, regardless of whether you take that loan or not.
