Stumbling Dating Disaster

I have been single for just over 3 years now, following a bereavement and the thought of dating is so overwhelming that I honestly don’t know where to start!
My last “date” was 25 years ago, as in meeting someone new and building a relationship. We were together for 22 years and in that time I was made disabled…..Traumatic attack resulting in TBI.
From who I was 25 years ago to who I am now there’s a huge difference and I have so many health issues now that to be honest I’m not too sure that anyone would be willing to take that amount of “baggage” on!
Beside the fact that I rarely get out to actually meet someone new and I find dating apps to be full of bots and people looking for hook ups.
Where do I start?? 🤷♀️🤦♀️

Hi @superstar79 have you any hobbies? That you can join groups in. Can meet and make freinds that way. If you don't like on line dating.
Sorry to read about your bereavement.
Might be groups in your area0 -
I have looked into some groups but sadly there’s nothing available in my area that I would enjoy doing.I have a wide variety of interests and can not find anything for people who are in my age group.0

That's a shame I know a coach company in my area does days out for singles in different age ranges. Also local meet ups for coffee etc. Hope you find something you can join0

Thank you for replying to my post Sandy -123.I am too stubborn to ever give up on my dreams, even if some of them are literally impossible to achieve now! 🤔
Everyday that I wake up is a blessing so I will always look for the positives in my life!0 -
Hello @superstar79
Welcome to the community! I hope you are keeping well?
Have you thought about online meet ups? With Covid, there were a few I joined and once I got to know more people and find that some lived near, we have met up in person. So some of those groups could maybe develop?
I know how you feel about dating apps. I have heard good things about Bumble as when you match, it's the female that instigates the conversation and they have had reports of less spam accounts because of that.0
