Hi. My pip was extended from feb 2022 to Feb 23 then to 2024.
My review form sent out in March 2022 returned within 4 weeks
Telephone assessment on 16th may 2023
Was awarded enhanced for both from 6th june 2023  after the dwp increased from std to enhanced.  So 1 week back pay on recept of my monthly pip on 15th June.  Am I not entitled to back pay when I filled in the form in 2022 dwp kept putting the review date off. Thank you for any help. They also gave enhanced up until nov 2025 I will be 66 in april 2025 dwp said I will be hearing from them in Nov 2024 for a review.. I know when you retire it's a soft touch review is that why they want to review me in Nov 2024 not 2025. It def says they will be in touch nov 2024..

Usually when it's a review started by DWP the award is from when the decision is made. Sometimes because of the delays with review decisions they may award it from an earlier date but this doesn't apply to everyone.

Not everyone of state pension age and above has a 10 year award with a light touch review. Your current award is until 2025 so it's perfectly normal at this stage to be contacted anytime from 1 year before your award is due to end. It won't be anything to do with you reaching state pension age in 2025.

With a PIP Review (rather than original claim) is the new award start date the date they did the assessment/ made the decision?  Example of what I mean:  say you sent back your PIP review forms and evidence in January 2022 but DWP didn't actually get around to assessing and awarding you until January 2023, would the new award run from the date you actually submitted your review form,  or from the date of the assessment/ decision?

Usually with a review started by DWP if the award is higher the extra money is paid from the date of the decision.

However because of delays with decisions they have been backdating claims to an earlier date for some people, but not everyone.
