Chronic pain - feel fobbed off

I have various autoimmune conditions and experience chronic pain. I saw my GP face to face today to discuss pain relief.

She made a big thing about my weight and also sent me a video so I could understand more about chronic pain.

I'm not criticising the video itself but I feel somewhat fobbed off and that she hasn't taken me seriously.

    Hello @trickyjacket

I'm so sorry you feel fobbed off. Has your GP practice got multiple doctors under the one surgery? Maybe a second opinion may help?

Yes that is an option. They like you to stay with the same person but I'll certainly move to someone else if it happens again.

I hope you can find a GP who you can work with to feel more heard and understood @trickyjacket, let us know if we can help with anything in the meantime :)

Interesting video.  I can't help wonder if it was produced by someone who has never lived with chronic pain tho'

All great in theory.  Practice not so great, when your pain is all consuming mentally, emotionally and physically

Good luck for the future and a more understanding doctor
