Phone Assessment/PIP Text

Hi,
After some advice please. I had my first PIP review last Wednesday (phone Assessment); seemed to go well, but who knows
I was told it would take up to 6 weeks for a decision; no problems with that timeframe at all. This morning I received a text from DWP saying a decision has been made, and I'll receive a letter in the next 2 weeks.
Firstly, I only sent my evidence (Occupational Therapist report) on Friday, so they won't have received it before making a decision.
Secondly, people are saying they've received texts saying they've been awarded pip etc; as mine just says the letters in the post, does this mean my review application has been rejected? I'm starting to panic and get anxious with it all.
Sorry for the long message, hope it makes some kind of sense!
Have a lovely evening everyone .

It doesn’t mean anything other than what the text message says, you will receive a letter with details of your award shortly. You can phone PIP to see what this decision is but I personally would await the letter.

Hi everyone I got a text this morning saying I have a telephone consultation for the 24th July but I am profoundly deaf and I can't hear on a phone my partner makes and answers all my calls will she have to talk to the person who rings
And am I having a telephone consultation because they have enough evidence on my form I sent
    I can't understand why I didn't have a face to face ?

That wouldn't be the reason you're having a telephone assessment because most are by telephone anyway. You can ring the number on the letter to ask for a face to face and they will arrange that for you.

Award texts are not sent for reviews, they are for first time claims only. It doesn't mean you've been refused.

I did put on the form that my partner makes and answers all my calls as I can't hear on the phone
So she will have to talk to the oerson phoning or break it down to me using sign language and lip reading etc what the person is saying

It really does differ for everyone, your decision letter will explain more if awarded.

If awarded it will be for anything between 1 and 10 years.

I’ve not received a decision yet, I requested the report from DWP to see what the nurse had captured about my condition etc. I’m still yet to hear from DWP, probs another 8-12 weeks but the report suggestions 10 points for daily living and 10 points for mobility.

    Timeline so far:

    application completed online 02/05/23

application sent to independent assessment service 03/05/2023

telephone assessment completed 12/07/23. The report was sent to DWP on the same day.

requested a copy of the assessors report on 13/07/23 from DWP and received it in the post on 14/07/2023

@Toby2007 Just to let you know I’ve received standard rate for daily living and mobility, found out today. I was 2 points off getting enhanced but I am very grateful. I’m assuming you’ve provided a copy of your audiology report as evidence?

Could I ask how long did you wait for your decision from dwp after assessment was sent
And do you get it back dated

Up to 12 weeks once the report was returned. If it’s a first time claim and you’re it transferring from DLA then yes it’s from the date you rang to start your claim. Providing you had the difficulties for at least 3 months.

It’s up to 12 weeks. It can be before this. Some wait a couple of weeks, others wait several and some wait longer. Timescales are just a guide.

Fortunately I heard back two weeks from when the report was returned. Have you asked for a copy of it?

    That's great
    No not yet
Does the report say how many points
How long have you been awarded for
As it's a condition what will never get any better and will always need help
