I have received an amount in my bank but no letter as yet. I am owed arrears. Would arrears be paid separately?
Many thanks.

Yes money owed is always paid separately. Usually this is received before the decision letter. Which benefit did you apply for?

Hi poppy thank you for your reply
I applied for Pip. I thought I had been paid the lower rate as have waited over 6 months and just received £641 in my bank today I thought that included arrears so therefor thought I’d been awarded lowest rate. I seen a post on here saying it is all paid together so confused. Thanks again.0 -
If you seen a thread on here stating first payment and money owed was paid together then that was incorrect. Money owed is received first and then your first 4 weekly payment will be about 4 weeks later. That amount does sound like it's standard mobility award. If you disagree then you can request the Mandatory Reconsideration within 1 month of the date of the decision. You should put this in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/appeals/mandatory-reconsideration-pip/
