ESA and DBS check

Hello

I am thinking of doing some online voluntary work for a UK charity, which would include a DBS check. The hours would be around 3 hours a fortnight and is a listening support role. I am on contributions based ESA in the support group and just wondering if having a DBS check would trigger a reassessment at all? I am overdue (my original claim was mid-2019), but think that reassessments are still on hold for now?

I would of course notify the DWP of my voluntary work if I decide to go ahead with it. I'm just a bit worried that they might consider a DBS check as being 'fit for work', which I am not.

Thank you

It will not prompt a review and a DBS check will have no bearing on your ESA claim.

A DBS says more about your criminal history than your ability to work @Karen_08 :)
