Hello I wonder if someone could advise me I have been placed in the lwcra category and I’m wondering if I will get any backdated payments due with my next universal credit payment or would this be done separately, I have provided fit notes since February and the last covers me until end of July, could anyone advise me if I’m due and backdated payment and will I be notified on how this is usually paid, or will it go in with my next universal credit payment?

There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is paid from the 4th month after you reported your health condition, providing you sent a fit note within 7 days of that.

Based on the limited information you gave your first payment will be either June or July. For me to be able to tell you exactly when it's paid from i will need to know the answer to the following 2 questions.

What date exactly did you report your health condition/send your first fit note?

What date do you usually receive your money each month?

Thank you the first fit note I can see on my journal on for the 10th March although I completed the health part of my universal claim on 24th February and have had fit notes from January  5th  (I’m unsure if I added this on the original application or if it was only requested I March afterwards), my statement is on the 26th of each month and payment made on the 30th of each month. They don’t usually accept a backdated fit note. They usually go from when you reported it, not the actual date on the fit note. 

Therefore your waiting period will be 
March to June.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 24th June to 23rd July and first payment will be 30th July. No LCWRA element is owed. You will need to check your next statement to see if the element is included.
