Hey everyone,
I’m 21 with mild cerebral palsy, I’m also partially sighted, I have a very small group of friends & would like to grow my social circle,
I’ve not really had any luck within my local community could someone point me in the right direction?

Hello @Darce21
Welcome to the community! How are you today?
I hope you can make friends here in the community! We have a Coffee Lounge where we play games, have debates and get to know each otherI am also going to tag @Richard_Scope. Richard is our Cerebral Palsy Network Lead. The CP Network is a group of people with lived experience of CP. The network supports the cerebral palsy community in England and Wales
In your community, why not see if there are any events at places like the local Coffee shop? or at the local community centre0 -
Hi @Darce21, its so hard main new friends as an adult and not enough people talk about it! It's something I have definitely struggled with and then disability can make it harder again. I've had some luck using bumble friends (the friendship version of the dating app).
And also looking for local or semi-local groups for specific interests like board gaming groups, book clubs etc0 -
Hi @Darce21
I run a monthly group with my colleague @Abdi_Scope. It is called Network CP. We meet via Zoom, have guest speakers or sometimes just have conversations. You are very welcome to join us if you would like to. Thanks, @Hannah_Scope for tagging me.0 -

That's great @Darce21, all you need to do is email networkcp@scope.org.uk with your full name and then you'll get a Zoom link to the meeting on the 23rd of August.0
