ADHD self referal waiting time

I'm currently waiting for an ADHD assessment that I had to beg my doctors for to take me seriously, I'm 24 years old, and I live alone, when I try to explain to others about my emotions, I feel like everyone thinks I'm crazy 
I went through primary and high school having difficulties with learning my social interactions 
now im studying health and socials, I'm finding it easier to understand how to deal with things but I am still finding it difficult having no actual support 
it just makes it easier to know that there is many other out there dealing with the same possible disorders

I am so sorry to hear it was such a battle to get the assessment. I hope you hear something soon. In the meantime, I do hope the community can be a place of support for you
