When your waiting for a PIP review how long of a notice are you supposed to get before the due appointment date. I ask for someone who needs support at the review

It seems currently review forms are being sent out about 8 months before the end date of a current award (altho in theory an award can be reviewed at any time). When expecting an assessment (if perhaps this was what you're rather wondering), then a person is normally contacted at least a week beforehand.0

Just spoke to my friend and long story short , before COVID lock down in 2020 he foned ESa to ask about sending paperwork back and was told do not and they would contact him when back to normal. They now say they sent him letters got no reply then they contacted doctors for info and will be doing review without paperwork now. He has sever anxiety and depression and fibromyalgia. He's worried that if he has to appeal he will lose his ESA and PIP and will have to look for work. He cant work and would have a breakdown if forced to look. He's feels very ill his anxiety is very high.
P.S This is the first contact he has had off them since 2020

Was he sent ESA50 forms before the first Covid lockdown? Some were sent forms around this time (I was) but I had a paper based assessment for that with a decision a few months later.
Some didn’t have an assessment at all and the review was put on hold because a decision couldn’t be made without an assessment.
His PIP won’t be affected because it’s a completely different benefit. He can send evidence at anytime to support his claim. He can also download and print off the ESA50 form online and send that to the health assessment providers. See link. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/capability-for-work-questionnaireDoes he have to attend a work capability assessment?0 -
Yes this a works capabilities assessment. He hasn't had a date yet. He phoned ESA day before lockdown ( which ESA) have recorded and hadn't heard nothing until yesterday when he was told the assessment will go ahead with no paperwork by some really rude abrupt women0
