Dare I say it can be anything up to 12 weeks, but hope you're one of the ones that may hear earlier!

Oh dear! The text I received from DWP yesterday states 8 weeks. Guess i will round it off to 12 weeks. I mean the consultation itself took 40 mins and DWP received the report the following day. Hoping for the best, not sure whether the report was well-written0

They tell everyone 8 weeks. We say allow up to 12 but the decision can be made within a couple of weeks, a few weeks, several weeks and even longer than 12 weeks. To be honest there's really no timescales.

A BB doesn't automatically entitle anyone to PIP.

Hi @gsensicle - Please see: https://www.gov.uk/pip/eligibility You must also be under State Pension age if you’ve not received PIP before. You could instead look into Attendance Allowance: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/attendance-allowance/claiming-attendance-allowance/how-to-claim-attendance-allowance/

Hello Everyone! I have just received a text this morning to inform that I have been awarded PIP. It says I should receive a letter in 2 weeks but its Bank Holiday Monday! Does anyone know if the DWP opens on Bank Holidays? I think that I will await the letter0

Good news. Sometimes they work bank holidays due to backlogs but the helpines are not open until tomorrow.
