Hello everyone, I applied for UC on 11/5/23 and reported my health condition on the same date, my first UC payment 17/6, I submitted fit note 3/6/23 with started date of 22/2/23, I awarded lcwra on 26/7/23, when my first lcwra payment should be as I'm little confused about it. Thanks

Your waiting period will be June/July, July/August, August/Sept.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 11th Sept to 10th October and first payment will be 17th Oct.Had you provided your first fit note within 7 days of starting your claim then the first payment would have been earlier but the delay will affect when it's paid from. The backdated fit note won't be accepted because you weren't claiming UC on 22/2/2023.0

Hi, I'm new here. I'm looking for a bit help on first payments for lcwra. I know this has probably been asked loads of times but I'm finding it really confusing so any help would be greatly appreciated.
I first went on to UC on 18/11/23 after losing my job due to health condition. I put in my first sick note on the 28/11/23 & then another 11/1/24 & then my last on the 21/2/24. Today I got my award letter for Lcwra & was wondering if anyone can tell me when my first payment should be due? My payment date for UC is the 24th of every month. Thank you0 -
Sorry the last post had a typo, signed to UC 18/11/23 and told them about health condition when I applied, first sick note was dated 25/11/230

You said your first fit note was provided on 28/11/23 but in your next comment you said it was dated from 25/11/23. Can you please confirm that you did actually provide it on 28/11/23? and not 25/11/23?
Were there any gaps at all in your fit notes?
If you provided your fit note on 28/11 then your waiting period will be Dec/Jan, Jan/Feb, Feb/March... LCWRA starts from 18th March to 17th April and first payment will be 24th April.
If it was provided on 25/11 then your first payment will be 24th March. Either way, no LCWRA element is owed.
Please note, my advice assumes there were no gaps in your fit notes and you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim.0 -
Hi Poppy, thanks for your reply. My sick note is dated 25/11/23 but due to that being weekend and wait to get it & add it to my journal it was added on the 28/11/23 which my work coach said would be fine. There have been no breaks in my sick notes apart from they ended on weekends but always backdated to relevant dates and added to my journal as soon as I have getting them.0

There may also be issues if you didn't provide a fit note as soon as the last one ended. It's not the date on the fit note that counts, it's when you actually provided it. Again, it will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision.0
