Hi my son was in receipt of dla I was asked to fill in new forms in April to apply for pip which I did ,his dla has run on until now ,it has taken weeks for a decision but I finally got awarded high rate care component from 21st sept which is more t
han he got in dla .I have not been backdated this higher allowance from April as they said I’ve received the lower dla amount whilst awaiting the decision .this has also affected the extra uc I’m now entitled to ,so the backdated pay would of been substantial amount to myself .

    Hi @IAMBAKERSDOZEN13 - & welcome to the community. I'm sorry to say that your son's decision letter is in fact correct. It also works the other way that, if he had been awarded a lower amount with PIP than he'd previously had with DLA, then you wouldn't have had to pay the difference between the 2 back.
