Hi need some advice please . I’m currently receiving new style esa 84.80 per week , I had my assessment on the 29th of august 2023 still waiting on decision. If my assessment started on the 28th of June 2023 when would I expect 1st payment of support rate if awarded please ? Tia .

There's a 13 week time on the 'assessment rate' phase, if awarded Support Group then it'll be from after this. From what you have said, the 27th September will be when you would see the increase.0

I thought it would be end of October it’s so complicated 😐0

Has a decision been made on your work capability assessment yet? If not then all you can do is wait. If placed into the Support Group then you will be paid any money that's owed to you.

No decision as not been made yet ,it’s taken quite a while I got my first payment assessment on the 3rd June . Sent es50 form back a lot while ago .I’ve honestly had a nightmare with it all saying they hadn’t arrived it twice ,I was called on Friday just gone and I’ve had an apology to say they are sorry and hopefully I will hear something soon .0

I think it’s absolutely terrible the Dwp system how people are treated I think it needs a shake up .There’s a lot of people who are in my position I had a brain tumour operation in November 2022 unfortunately they couldn’t get it all out so had radiotherapy for 6 weeks every day for 6 week and now chemotherapy I finish in November it’s so stressful and having to hang on to the phone while you wait is a complete joke .0

As you're currently going through treatment for cancer then you will automatically qualify for Support Group. When you filled out the ESA50 form did you make sure that page 27 was filled in and signed by a healthcare professional?

You're welcome. No assessment will be needed because you automatically qualify for Support Group. Hopefully you're not waiting too much longer.
