I recently paid for my first ADHD coping skills meeting , Access to work have agreed to financially support me for this , I made the payment on 03/09/23 , and this was confirmed by my councillor to  access to work on 04/09/23 , the reimbursement process on their website states it should take 10 days to confirm/process and 5 days to credit my account , it is showing as "processed" , I have called them and they say the payment is due , however I have been told I should have a session every week and due to my current financial situation I cant afford to pay for 3 or 4 sessions whislt waiting for hundreds of pounds to be refunded , therefore I am getting less medical help than I can afford , has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi @neilc welcome to our community :) I also have ADHD so I know how helpful those kinds of sessions are! It took a long time for me to break down my bad habits and replace them with good, constructive ones. And yes, while it's good they will reimburse you it does seem like you will temporarily be quite out of pocket. Have you asked them it there's any sort of advance you can get?

You could try searching to see if there are any possible grants or perhaps contact a local benefits adviser to see if they know of any local help for yourself?

It's a long road, I still haven't fully gotten rid of all my bad habits, but hopefully we can find you the support you need :)

I'm just going to move this into our Work and Employment section, it will be more visible there.
