Hi everyone my name is carrie and I've been searching for a reputable autism forum for support and to talk to other people on the spectrum as i find offline friendhsips hard
I am pregnant with my second child,my first is 18 years old and i wasnt planning on getting pregnant but here I am and I didnt want to abort

Ive been bullied on other autism sites saying my pregnancy is fake  so hoping this one has a much kinder atmosphere of people willing to listen and support
I was going to join a pregnancy support site but I prefer getting support from other autistic people

nice meeting you all

Hi @CDS2000 - & welcome to the community. Whilst it couldn't be said that this is a forum just for those on the autistic spectrum, it is a forum for whatever disability/health condition you have, & we have many really good members who consider themselves to have/have a diagnosis of ASD. I'm sure you'll therefore find a warm welcome here as this is a very friendly & supportive forum, Carrie.
I'm so sorry for what you've found on other sites, but I doubt you'd find that here.
I'm not on the autistic spectrum, but have a son who was said to be 'next door' to this some years ago, so have a little understanding. Nice to 'meet' you too, & big congratulations on your pregnancy :)

Hello CDS2OOO It's a pleasure to welcome you to this site.   This  is a great group to be involved with and you'll find many helpful and friendly here.  If you should you need any advice, someone to talk to or you just want to tell a joke or have a  laugh there will always be someone here that will be willing to help you along the way......

The Coffee Lounge is a good place to startand maybe see you there at some point.

as an older gay man who was diagnosed later in life in 2021 with autism, age 54 now, I find it incredible that despite the fact that so many people within the gay and LGBT community have autism and vice versa, there is hardly any support out there for autistic adults - and if there is support, it comes with so much ideological nonsense and identity politics nonsense
