Hi I have just joined and was wondering if any of you guys/girls could help me.
I applied for PIP 7 weeks ago . 2 weeks ago i got a text message from DWP saying "a Health Professional is looking at your pip claim. They will contact you with an appointment if they need to. I have been advised this is a standard text message.
I then received a message from my surgery on Friday asking me to contact the nurse ASAP in relation to my PIP claim.
I have been unable to get through to the surgery and am very worried.
Is this normal for the DWP to contact the GP surgery before any assessment?
I suffer from ME and would really appreciate some advise.

It's rare for them to contact anyone for any evidence but it's possible and it does happen sometimes. As your form has been forwarded to the health assessment providers then it's likely to be them that's contacting them, rather than DWP itself.Keep trying to contact the GP surgery and hopefully you will eventually get through to them.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.

Hello i received a text today advising me i have a face to face assessment in 2 weeks time. I am really worried because at the moment I am so weak I have not left the house for 8 weeks and will not be able to attend the face to face assessment due to my health conditions.
Please can someone help me.
Can I request home vist or maybe video or telephone assessment? -

Please make sure it's the health assessment providers you're ringing and not PIP itself. PIP are not responsible for the assessments.

Hi just a quick update.
I eventually got through and they were very good and changed it to a telephone assessment. I will keep you all updated. -
